A formal occasion?
What do I wear?
My normal uniform consisting of tees and jeans finished off with sneakers, somehow I was sure that would be too unprofessional.

So, first up I thought of which colour palette I would stick to, I went on the safe side and chose black and white. Then realised that my black trousers are sufficient. It can easily be worn so that it fits my more formal occasion while not making me look as if I'm trying to look too grown up. The next item on my radar was a white tee, luckily enough the white tee has a slight twist, i.e. draping on the shoulders which gives the outfit more appeal. Tees are really an essential in a wardrobe! I finished the look with DVF sandals (sadly, I forgot to take photos!) and my most reliable leather shoulder bag that I just adore (more on that in a later post)!
A more formal occasion - what would you wear?
It's all circumstantial! Ha. Weddings I'll throw on a dress, parties or the ballet I'll usually opt for black cropped trousers [cotton or wool depending on the season] and either a white button-down or sweater. Possibly even a t-shirt and blazer or tank and blazer combination. I do like to mix in a shorter black skirt occasionally instead of black trousers.
ReplyDeleteYour shoulder bag is lovely. xx.
Totally agree, it really depends on what the "formal" event is! Still looking for a white shirt (love the Everlane white oxford, also loving the silk blouses in either white or black! However, they do not ship internationally yet!)
DeleteA silk tank with a well structured blazer is something I'm looking forward to investing! The combination is just amazing! Still looking for a shirt black skirt.
The shoulder bag goes everywhere with me. x
Lovely look. I love how languid the tee and trousers are. And your bag!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The bag is a well loved and adored piece!
DeleteSimple yet trendy!
